The Baby Therapy Centre was established in 1994 as an Early Intervention service and since that time thousancs of children and their parents have been helped .

If there are barriers preventing the child from normal development, there is help. Thirteen % of all babies have a mild to severe handicap, arising from injury, disease or genetic disorder.
The good news is that early treatment and stimulation increase the chances of normal development. The Baby Therapy Centre assists children from birth to 3 years of age to overcome speech barriers through various techniques.
If your child is 2 and isn’t talking, it’s time to seek professional advice. Anything that interferes with a child’s ability to interact with the environment in a normal manner is a potential source of developmental delay.
Early Intervention Communication includes assessment and treatment of infants who are at risk of disabilities or delays involving communication, language, or speech.

Each patient at the Lynnmed Clinic is assessed by the treating physician on admission and the necessary therapists will be involved in the treatment plan. They believe in adapting a multi-disciplinary team approach when working with a patient.
Speech-Language Therapy:
Speech-language therapists assess speech and language development and treat speech and language, as well as swallowing disorders. Their therapists are also educated to assess and treat children with delayed or deviant language development, stuttering, articulation problems and auditory processing difficulties.
In patients who have had a stroke or head injury for instance, the speech-language therapist will help determine the nature of the person’s language, speech and swallowing impairment and assist with therapy for improvement.
If you are battling with speech difficulties, there are caring professionals who can help.
Contact their Speech and Language Therapist, Dr Karin Theron.
