They are an independent special needs school that caters for students from 6 – 20 years of age. They were established in 1990 to help students who are mildly to moderately intellectually challenged and who perform below their chronological age.
The aim of the therapy department at Unity College is to develop the full potential of each student, and all therapies teach strategies to cope with their weaknesses.
Speech and Languge Therapy:
They develop individual speech, language and communication program’s for each child, in addition to creating communication resources both for the classroom and for therapy purposes.
Therapy focuses on speech disorders, language impairment and auditory processing skills and therapy occurs on an individual, a small group or class group level.
